St.
Lawrence Martyr Religious Education Program strives to
support the efforts of the parents in teaching their
children about the Catholic Church and living a moral,
Christian life.
Levels K – 5 meet on Monday afternoons from 3 -4:15 at Holy
Family-Holy Name School from Sept. to May. Our volunteer
catechists use the following publications:
Levels K & 1 - Pflaum “Promise” Series
Level 2 - Sadlier “With you Always” Sacrament program
Level 3 – Sadlier “Coming to the Church”
Level 4 – Sadlier “Coming to God’s Love”
Level 5 – Sadlier “Coming to God’s Life”
The preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a four
year program, also taught by volunteers. These classes meet
at Holy Family-Holy Name School on Sunday mornings from 8:30
– 9:45. Our volunteer catechists use the following
publications:
Confirmation I – Pflaum – “Venture”
Confirmation II – Pflaum – “Vision”
Confirmation III – Sadlier – “One Faith, One Lord”
Confirmation IV – Sadlier – “The Spirit Sets us Free”
St. Lawrence Parish also provides Children’s Liturgy of the
Word each week during the 10 AM Mass. The purpose of the
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is to enhance the children’s
experience of the Mass with emphasis on the Word of God. We
use the Treehaus Publication “Sunday Weekly Leader Guide”.
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program
prepares adults for the reception of the sacraments of
initiation that they have not yet received. Classes meet at
the 10 AM Mass and are dismissed after the Gospel to attend
class.
